Samsung Innovation Campus Expands to 15 Colleges, Strengthening India’s Digital Skilling Ecosystem

The move reinforces Samsung’s commitment to equipping young learners with future-ready digital skills and enhancing employability across the country.

Samsung R&D Institute India Bangalore (SRI-B) has expanded its Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) by onboarding six new academic institutions, taking the total number of participating colleges in India to 15. The move reinforces Samsung’s commitment to equipping young learners with future-ready digital skills and enhancing employability across the country.

The newly added institutions include NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Christ University, RV College of Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, BMS College of Engineering, and Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. Among these, SRM Institute of Science and Technology is the only participating institution from Tamil Nadu this year, while the remaining colleges are based in Karnataka.

Launched in September 2022, Samsung Innovation Campus is a global CSR initiative focused on training youth in advanced technology domains such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), Internet of Things (IoT), and coding. The programme offers structured six-month courses that combine theoretical learning with hands-on projects, supported by mentorship from SRI-B experts.

The AI/ML curriculum includes neural networks, data processing, and real-world AI applications, while the IoT track focuses on sensors, connectivity, cloud integration, and smart device development. Students are also trained in programming fundamentals such as Python, algorithms, and software engineering principles, alongside soft-skills training to enhance workplace readiness.

Commenting on the initiative, Mohan Rao Goli stated that the programme bridges the gap between academia and industry, aligning with national missions such as Skill India and Digital India. He added that the expansion will help create a strong talent pipeline while fostering innovation among students.

As Samsung marks 30 years in India, the initiative reflects its broader CSR vision of empowering youth through education and skill development. The programme has also recorded around 48% women participation nationwide, underscoring its focus on inclusivity.
