Ahead of the formal session, Chaudhary interacted with CCSU students and faculty, discussing how AI can expand learning pathways, enhance employability and unlock opportunities for students from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

Speaking during a fireside chat, the minister stressed the need to bridge the traditional divide between education and skilling, identifying AI as the key connector between classroom learning and industry needs.

“The vision of Viksit Bharat relies on turning our demographic dividend into demographic dynamism. For too long, degrees and skills were seen as separate tracks. AI allows us to finally connect them,” Chaudhary said, adding that partnerships such as this are designed to democratise access to world-class skills irrespective of geography.

CCSU to Function as Living Laboratory for AI-First Education

Under the pilot, CCSU Meerut will serve as a national living laboratory for AI-led institutional reform. Planned interventions include personalised AI tutors for students, AI-driven skill-gap analysis and intelligent document processing to streamline administrative workflows. The framework developed through the pilot is expected to be scalable across India’s higher education system.

The minister noted that CCSU’s affiliated colleges would directly benefit from the initiative, with learnings intended to be extended across India’s more than 45,000 colleges and 1,200 universities. He also highlighted alignment with the government’s ₹60,000 crore Model ITI Scheme to integrate AI-enabled curricula alongside upgraded vocational infrastructure.

Google leadership reiterated its commitment to supporting population-scale impact in education. Preeti Lobana said the collaboration would leverage Google Cloud and Gemini to pilot personalised learning and AI-driven career support, creating a replicable model for modernising India’s education and skilling ecosystem.

Drawing from CCSU’s implementation, MSDE will also develop a National Best Practice Framework enabling institutions to self-certify as AI-enabled. CCSU will function as a Centre of Excellence, hosting knowledge-sharing sessions across the ministry’s network.
