Lotus Petal Senior Secondary School (LPSSS) organised its Annual Sports Day 2025–26 at the school playground, with participation from students, parents, staff, alumni, and members of the school community.
The event featured Indian professional boxer Harsh Gill as chief guest. During the opening ceremony, Gill interacted with students and encouraged them to pursue their goals with discipline, consistency, and sustained effort. He also highlighted the role of teachers and parents in supporting students’ academic and sporting development.
Addressing the gathering, Kushal Chakravorty, founder of the Lotus Petal Foundation, spoke on the role of sports in holistic education. He noted that sports help build qualities such as integrity, perseverance, teamwork, and resilience, and urged students to maintain a balance between academics and physical activity.
The programme included a torch lighting ceremony, march past, oath-taking, and the National Anthem. Cultural segments featured performances by students, including a Tiny Tots dance, a mass physical training display by primary students, and a Zumba routine by the senior wing.
Students competed in multiple track and field events, including hurdles, obstacle races, skipping races, inter-house relays, and novelty events. Medal ceremonies were held across categories to recognise performance and participation. Alumni and PLC participants joined select events, while staff relays and a student–teacher tug-of-war drew audience attention.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a victory lap by the winning house. Organisers said the Sports Day aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and character-building alongside academic learning.
