Curiosity and Empathy Will Define Tomorrow’s Leaders, Says Epigamia CEO Ritesh Gauba at NMIMS SBM Orientation

The programme marks the beginning of the academic journey for students enrolled in the MBA, MBA (Human Resources), and MBA (Pharmaceutical Management) programmes, introducing them to SBM’s academic ecosystem, industry-focused pedagogy, and leadership development initiatives

SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), School of Business Management (SBM), formally welcomed the incoming MBA Batch of 2026–28 with the inauguration of its Foundation Programme at the Mukesh Patel Auditorium in Mumbai. The programme marks the beginning of the academic journey for students enrolled in the MBA, MBA (Human Resources), and MBA (Pharmaceutical Management) programmes, introducing them to SBM’s academic ecosystem, industry-focused pedagogy, and leadership development initiatives. Designed to ease students’ transition into management education, the Foundation Programme familiarises participants with academic expectations, experiential learning opportunities, industry engagement, and student support systems. The initiative aims to equip future managers with the skills, mindset, and adaptability needed to succeed in a rapidly changing business landscape.

Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Ritesh Gauba, Chief Executive Officer of Epigamia and a distinguished SBM alumnus, shared lessons from his two-decade professional journey across global organisations. Encouraging students to embrace lifelong learning, he highlighted curiosity, adaptability, and empathy as qualities that distinguish impactful leaders.

Success is not built by having all the answers; it is built by staying curious enough to ask better questions, courageous enough to challenge your own limits, and empathetic enough to understand the people around you,” Gauba said. He further urged students to step beyond their comfort zones, embrace continuous learning, and never lose the “human touch” that defines effective leadership.

Welcoming the new cohort, Dr. Meena Chintamaneni, Pro Vice Chancellor, NMIMS, encouraged students to pursue excellence through resilience, integrity, and a willingness to learn from challenges. She emphasised that true success lies not only in academic achievements but also in developing character, competence, and values that positively influence others.

The event was attended by senior academic leaders of SBM, including Dr. Chandrima Sikdar, Dean of Academics and Learning Experience, Dr. Mayank Joshipura, Dean – Advancing Research & Innovation, and Dr. Veena Vohra, Dean of Accreditation and Strategic Initiatives. Their leadership continues to strengthen SBM’s focus on academic excellence, innovation, impactful research, and strategic growth.

Reaffirming its legacy of industry relevance and quality education, NMIMS School of Business Management said the Foundation Programme serves as the first step in preparing responsible, future-ready leaders capable of navigating complexity, driving innovation, and creating sustainable value in an evolving global business environment.
