Birla Global University Welcomes BBA 2026–30 Batch with Industry-Focused Commencement Programme

Birla Global University (BGU), Bhubaneswar, officially welcomed its Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) 2026–30 batch through its Commencement Day Programme, bringing together industry leaders, academic administrators, faculty, alumni and students to mark the beginning of a new academic journey.

The event featured Brishti Mondal, Vice President and Head – HR at Nomura Research Institute Fintech, as the Chief Guest, and Ankur Zutshi, Principal at IQVIA, Basel, Switzerland, as the Guest of Honour. They were joined by Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Vice Chancellor of Birla Global University, Prof. P. Nayak, Dean of the Birla School of Management, and Registrar Tanmay Kumar Pattanayak.

Addressing the incoming students, Brishti Mondal encouraged them to embrace continuous learning and develop practical problem-solving abilities. She stressed the importance of acquiring new skills across diverse domains to remain relevant in an evolving business environment.

Ankur Zutshi highlighted that success is shaped by purpose, persistence and perspective. He urged students to stay resilient through challenges while maintaining a long-term vision that enables them to identify opportunities where others may see obstacles.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni called on students to remain inquisitive, emphasising that meaningful questions are central to quality learning. He also advised students to pursue holistic development and use artificial intelligence as a tool without becoming overly dependent on it.

Dean Prof. P. Nayak outlined the “three Cs”—Curiosity, Competency and Character—as the foundations of lasting professional success. He reminded students that earning a degree is only one milestone in a broader journey of personal and professional growth.

Registrar Tanmay Kumar Pattanayak encouraged the new cohort to actively participate in campus life, step beyond their comfort zones and approach their academic journey with clear goals and determination.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Saswati Tripathy, Programme Coordinator for BBA at the Birla School of Management.

As part of the induction process, the university will conduct a seven-day orientation and immersion programme beginning on July 23. The initiative is designed to familiarise students with academic expectations, industry practices and campus life while preparing them for the four-year BBA programme.
