Global specialty chemicals company Lubrizol and fluid conveyance systems manufacturer Polyhose have inaugurated a new medical manufacturing facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, aimed at strengthening India’s growing medical technology ecosystem.
The facility will produce precision extruded medical tubing used in minimally invasive neurovascular and cardiovascular devices. The partners said the plant is designed to support increasing demand from India’s healthcare sector while also serving global medical device manufacturers.
According to Lubrizol, the new site will enhance regional manufacturing capacity and improve supply reliability for customers in India and international markets. The facility is expected to contribute to the development of advanced medical technologies and support the country’s ambitions to become a key hub for MedTech manufacturing.
Speaking at the inauguration, John Valukas, President of Lubrizol Engineered Materials, described the facility as a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to India and the global medical device industry.
The collaboration between Lubrizol and Polyhose highlights growing investments in high-precision healthcare manufacturing and reinforces India’s position as an emerging centre for medical technology innovation and production.
