Birla Global University (BGU) has invited applications for the first batch (2026–28) of its newly launched MBA in Communication Management, marking an expansion of the university’s management education portfolio with a focus on communication-led leadership.
The programme has been designed in response to growing industry demand for skilled communication professionals across corporate, media, consulting, and public policy sectors. BGU said the course aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary learning, experiential pedagogy, and competency-based outcomes.
According to the university, the MBA in Communication Management aims to prepare professionals capable of handling brand communication, corporate and crisis communication, media engagement, and digital communication in increasingly complex organisational environments.
Programme highlights include:
Integrated communication curriculum: Management fundamentals combined with corporate communication, branding, advertising, public relations, digital media strategy, and content management
Digital-first orientation: Focus on digital storytelling, social media strategy, data-driven communication, and emerging technologies
Industry-aligned learning: Curriculum developed with inputs from industry experts and communication professionals
Experiential pedagogy: Live projects, case studies, simulations, internships, and industry interactions
Career-focused outcomes: Preparation for roles in corporate communication, brand management, media strategy, digital marketing, public affairs, and consultancy
Kulbhushan Balooni, vice-chancellor of Birla Global University, said the programme reflects the growing importance of communication in leadership and organisational success. “As communication increasingly defines leadership, trust, and organisational outcomes, our focus is on integrating strategic thinking, industry relevance, and experiential learning to help students create impact and drive informed transformation across sectors,” he said.
Shiv Shankar Das, dean of the Birla School of Communication at BGU, said the programme addresses the strategic role communication now plays in organisations. “The MBA in Communication Management is designed to create professionals who can think strategically, communicate ethically, and lead confidently in complex business environments,” he said.
BGU said its learning ecosystem seeks to foster creativity, critical thinking, and strategic decision-making, preparing graduates for leadership roles in communication-driven industries.
