Marwadi University will host the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for the Saurashtra–Kutch region on January 11 and 12, 2026. The conference is being organised by the Government of Gujarat as part of its regional outreach under the Vibrant Gujarat initiative.
As part of the event, the university has submitted a proposal to the Education Department of the Gujarat government for a ₹1,000 crore investment Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening the state’s education infrastructure. According to the proposal, the investment would be directed towards developing new academic blocks with advanced laboratories, modern sports facilities, and upgraded hostel infrastructure.
The proposal also includes plans to establish a 10,000-square-foot centre for innovation and start-ups, along with a separate academic block dedicated to continuing education for working professionals and entrepreneurs.
The VGRC is being organised under the theme “Vocal for Local” and will be held across four zones of Gujarat—North Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch, South Gujarat, and Central Gujarat. The conference is expected to see participation from several countries, including Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, and the Netherlands, as well as international organisations such as JETRO, ICBC, USISPF, the World Bank, and representatives from the Russian Federation.
Dhruv Marwadi, trustee of Marwadi University, said hosting the regional conference was an opportunity to support collaboration between local enterprises and global stakeholders. “As an institution focused on innovation, industry engagement, and skill development, we aim to provide a platform that enables collaboration between start-ups, government agencies, and international investors,” he said.
R.B. Jadeja, provost of the university, said the conference aligns with broader national and state development goals. “VGRC reflects the idea of connecting local potential with global opportunities and contributes to Gujarat’s long-term growth ambitions,” he said.
Over the two-day event, participants are expected to take part in seminars, exhibitions, MoU signings, B2B and B2G meetings, buyer–seller interactions, and vendor development programmes. Key discussion areas include artificial intelligence, digital marketing, sustainability, circular economy practices, and auto and precision engineering.
The regional conference follows the legacy of previous Vibrant Gujarat Global Summits and is positioned as a platform to strengthen Gujarat’s role as an investment destination, with a focus on MSMEs, start-ups, skill development, tourism, culture, and food processing.
