Lejit AI Software Pvt Ltd, a Thiruvananthapuram-based legal technology startup, has launched Lejit.ai, a mobile application designed to help individuals better understand and navigate legal processes.
The company said the app is intended to address the perception of legal systems as complex and intimidating, particularly for people without prior legal exposure. Lejit.ai aims to provide users with clearer insights into legal procedures, applicable laws and the steps required in specific legal situations.
Barun Chandran, Director of Lejit AI Software Pvt Ltd, said many people struggle to understand what actions to take when faced with legal issues. According to the company, the app enables users to understand relevant laws, identify necessary precautions, prepare affidavits and legal drafts, and gain clarity before engaging advocates or legal professionals. It also facilitates the digital exchange of legal documents and case updates.
“Legal awareness is the first step toward justice,” said Barun Chandran, Director of Lejit AI Software Pvt Ltd. “Lejit.ai was designed to give common people clarity and confidence while dealing with legal issues, without being overwhelmed by legal jargon or processes.”
In addition to individual users, the company said the platform is also intended to support legal professionals. Lawyers and law firms often use multiple tools for case management, research, drafting and client communication. Lejit.ai seeks to bring these functions together through an AI-powered system aimed at reducing manual processes and improving efficiency.
“Legal work is still burdened by manual processes and outdated systems,” said Adv Vikanth Kamalakanthan, Legal Counsel of Lejit.ai. “Lejit.ai removes that friction. Our platform enables legal professionals to focus on legal advisory with clarity, legal research with precision, legal drafting with efficiency, and legal representation with confidence, while AI takes care of repetitive, time consuming work.”
The startup has raised ₹1 crore in angel funding from investors. The company said it has seen early adoption and is preparing for the next phase of growth, with plans to expand its reach to Indians living abroad who require guidance on matters related to Indian laws.
Lejit.ai is available through a mobile application and a web portal. According to the company, its Legal Knowledge Graph currently supports legal data from more than 38 countries, with regular updates intended to ensure accuracy and relevance for both individual users and legal professionals.
