IIT Mandi has opened applications for the 2026–28 batch of its MBA programme in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DS&AI), offered through the institute’s School of Management. The programme, now entering its fifth batch, focuses on integrating management education with data science, artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
According to the institute, the curriculum combines core management subjects with training in AI, machine learning, analytics and digital strategy. The programme is designed to align with industry requirements through periodic curriculum updates, experiential learning components and industry engagement.
The MBA in DS&AI includes live projects, internships, business case challenges, hackathons and industry immersion modules. Students also have access to analytics laboratories, computing infrastructure and the institute’s technology incubator, Catalyst. The programme incorporates international collaborations and visiting faculty as part of its academic framework.
The School of Management has recently introduced new elective clusters such as generative AI for managers, AI-driven financial decision-making and AI for marketing. These electives are supported by practicum-based learning, enabling students to work with industry mentors on live projects and strategic assignments. The institute stated that the programme structure reflects the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary and experiential learning.
Placement data shared by the institute shows that the most recent graduating batch recorded an average cost-to-company (CTC) of ₹18 lakh per annum, with the highest CTC reaching ₹49 lakh per annum. Recruiters included firms from analytics, consulting, banking and financial services, technology services and AI-driven business sectors.
Applications for the MBA in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programme opened on December 24, 2025, and will close on January 27, 2026.
