IIT Kanpur concludes Phase I placements for 2025–26 batch with over 1,200 offers

IIT Kanpur has concluded Phase I of campus placements for the 2025–26 graduating batch, with strong participation from recruiters across sectors. The placement process was conducted through on-campus, virtual and hybrid modes, continuing the flexible approach adopted in the previous year.

According to data released by the Students’ Placement Office (SPO), more than 250 organisations participated in the first phase, extending a total of 1,202 offers. Of these, 1,079 offers were accepted by students, including pre-placement offers. Fifteen students secured international roles with companies based in Europe, Japan, South Korea and the United States. Phase II of the placement process is scheduled to begin in mid-January 2026, with expectations of additional global opportunities.

Recruiters in Phase I included domestic and international firms such as Accenture, Airbus, American Express, BlackRock, Boeing, Databricks, Deutsche Bank, ICICI Bank, Mastercard, Meesho, Navi, PwC, Qualcomm, Samsung, InMobi and Square Point Capital. Several public sector undertakings, including BPCL, BEL, MIDHANI and EIL, also took part in the process.

Commenting on the completion of Phase I, IIT Kanpur director Manindra Agrawal said the outcomes reflected the academic preparedness and adaptability of students, as well as the institute’s sustained engagement with industry in India and abroad. He added that the institute would continue to focus on developing talent capable of contributing to national and global growth.

SPO chairperson Ashwani Kumar Thakur thanked participating recruiters for their continued engagement with the institute, noting that industry partnerships play a key role in shaping students’ professional trajectories. Vice-chairperson Manjesh Kumar Singh attributed the progress to coordinated efforts by the SPO team and faculty, as well as ongoing collaboration with recruiting organisations.

Phase II placements are expected to provide opportunities for remaining students as the placement season continues into the next month.
