Parul University, Gujarat, conducted its 9th convocation ceremony, marking the graduation of more than 16,000 students from the Class of 2025. Around 12,000 graduates participated in the ceremony, which was attended by over 23,000 people, including parents, faculty members and guests.
The convocation was attended by several prominent national figures, including Gujarat Minister of State for Home Affairs and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, journalist and India TV Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma, Olympic boxing champion MC Mary Kom, entrepreneur and Shark Tank India judge Vineeta Singh, and former Indian tennis player Sania Mirza. They addressed the graduates and shared reflections on careers, resilience and responsibility.
During the ceremony, the university awarded 104 gold medals and 44 certificates of merit to students for academic excellence. Three alumni received the President’s Medal for professional achievements, along with three startups recognised for entrepreneurial contributions. A total of 135 PhD scholars were also awarded degrees in recognition of their research work.
The convocation also highlighted a community initiative in which rural women artisans were engaged to produce over 16,000 handcrafted Khadi scarves for graduating students, providing livelihood support and skill development.
In his address, Rajat Sharma spoke about ethics, perseverance and public responsibility, while MC Mary Kom emphasised the importance of self-belief and confidence. Vineeta Singh spoke on entrepreneurship and failure as part of growth, and Sania Mirza highlighted discipline, resilience and balancing professional and personal life.
Dr Devanshu Patel, President of Parul University, addressed the graduates, encouraging them to continue learning, adapting and persevering as they move forward in their careers.
The ceremony marked the conclusion of the academic journey for the graduating students and the beginning of their professional paths across diverse fields.
