IIHMR University has concluded a three-day Management Development Programme (MDP) on Data Analytics and Business Intelligence for professionals from the World Health Organization – South-East Asia Regional Office (WHO-SEARO).
Nineteen WHO-SEARO officials participated in the programme, which included experiential learning sessions, case discussions and hands-on exercises focused on applying data analytics in public health decision-making.
In a statement issued by the university, President PR Sodani said the rapid expansion of health data — from surveillance systems to digital health records — has made the ability to derive actionable insights essential for timely public health responses. He noted that strengthening such capacities can support more resilient health systems and improve health outcomes across the region.
The programme covered a range of topics, including fundamentals of business intelligence, integrating BI into organisational strategy, data visualisation and dashboard development, Power BI applications, data analytics concepts, Excel-based tools, data manipulation techniques such as pivot tables and lookup functions, macros and automation, predictive analysis using generative AI, and group-based practical presentations.
Sessions were facilitated by IIHMR faculty members Ritu Vashistha, Purnendu Shekhar Pandey and Swapnil Gadhave.
