University of Liverpool Opens Admissions for Bengaluru Campus

Bringing UK-accredited degrees to India, the Bengaluru campus aims to blend Liverpool’s global academic excellence with local relevance

The University of Liverpool has begun admissions for its upcoming Bengaluru campus, which will open in 2026 at Alembic City, one of the city’s emerging hubs for education, research, and innovation.

The new campus is designed as a state-of-the-art learning environment, featuring smart classrooms that support experiential and case-based learning, collaborative innovation hubs, research facilities, and specialised laboratories. Students will also have access to Bloomberg terminals, enabling hands-on exposure to real-world financial and analytical tools.

The University has opened recruitment for its inaugural 2026 cohort, offering programmes in Computer Science, Business Management, Accounting and Finance, Biomedical Sciences, and — for the first time among UK institutions operating in India — Game Design.

Bringing UK-accredited degrees to India, the Bengaluru campus aims to blend Liverpool’s global academic excellence with local relevance, while building strong India–UK collaboration in research areas such as sustainability, digital transformation, innovation, and health sciences.

As part of the rollout, Lucy Everest, Chief Operating Officer at the University of Liverpool, visited Mumbai and Bengaluru from November 15 to 19. She met educators, school leaders, and prospective students, and delivered a keynote address at a School Leaders’ Conference in Mumbai. Everest highlighted how the Bengaluru campus aligns with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which aims to raise higher education participation to 50% by 2035 and strengthen India’s position as a global education hub.

“It has been a pleasure to spend time in Bengaluru and Mumbai this week, meeting educators, alumni, and applicants who are excited about the University of Liverpool arriving in India,” Everest said. “We are looking forward to welcoming our inaugural cohort of talented students in 2026 and providing them with an exceptional learning experience. Alembic City is the perfect place to realise this vision, and our new campus will provide students with the very best facilities to support their learning journey.”

Beyond academics, the Bengaluru campus will also feature modern architectural and design-led elements intended to enhance student life. An integrated experience zone will serve as a collaborative space for academia, industry, and the community. Modular classrooms will enable rapid shifts between learning modes, while a co-working hub will allow faculty, entrepreneurs, and student teams to work alongside one another, promoting seamless industry–academia engagement.

The University will establish a significant research footprint in India, focusing on shared global challenges and strengthening innovation-driven collaboration between India and the UK.
