LPU Hosts Annual International Conference and Global Summit 2025, Signs Eight Global MoUs

The conference concluded with a call to reimagine internationalisation as a shared global effort—one that integrates innovation, inclusivity, and resilience in higher education systems worldwide

Lovely Professional University (LPU) hosted over 60 international delegates at the 4th Annual International Conference and Global Summit (AICGS) 2025, held under the theme “Internationalisation Reimagined – Shaping the Future of Higher Education Together.” The three-day event brought together representatives from 25 universities across 15 countries—including the USA, UK, Russia, Norway, South Korea, Bangladesh, Germany, Italy, and Canada—to discuss the future of global collaboration in higher education.

The inaugural session was attended by Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU; Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor; Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Aman Mittal, Vice-President; and Dr. Loviraj Gupta, Pro Vice-Chancellor.

In his address, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal highlighted the need for universities to move beyond traditional models of internationalisation, stating that “the future of education will not be written by one nation or one institution—it will be written together.”

Dr. Anna Tyshetskaya, Director of HSE University, Russia, noted that education and culture serve as bridges of mutual growth and understanding, while Dr. Marty Martin, President of Drake University, USA, emphasized that internationalisation must extend beyond student mobility to include collaborative research and shared academic goals.

Dr. Aman Mittal described the summit as a “shift from universities merely meeting to co-creating academic futures,” stressing the importance of transforming ideas into tangible educational outcomes.

During the event, LPU signed eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with international institutions to strengthen academic and research collaborations. The inauguration of the LPU–HSE Centre of Excellence also took place, focusing on joint initiatives in artificial intelligence, cultural studies, and design.

Panel discussions addressed key themes such as “Rethinking Internationalization in Higher Education: Beyond Mobility and Partnerships” and “Geopolitics and Global Education: Navigating Academic Collaboration in an Era of International Tensions.” Experts explored ways to sustain cross-border cooperation in an increasingly complex global landscape.

The conference concluded with a call to reimagine internationalisation as a shared global effort—one that integrates innovation, inclusivity, and resilience in higher education systems worldwide.
